Job Details

Accountabilities

Risk Assessment

Review Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSAs) for CIBG business units to ensure key risks are identified, described and assessed and their corresponding controls identified and described in line with the RCSA Guideline

Review Third Party Risk Assessments (TPRA), New Initiatives (products, services, processes, systems and vendors) to ensure they are properly documented and all key risks associated with them are identified, assessed and the respective controls identified and documented

Risk Monitoring and Reconciliation

Monitor open actions under OR tools and follow up with Business Units for timely action in order to avoid overdue actions or breach of the Risk Appetite

Review Operational Risk Events to ensure relevant accounting records (i.e. gains, losses, provisions, recoveries and restitutions) are correctly updated in the General Ledger accounts and reconcile with the records in the Operational Loss Database

Risk and Control Testing

Review, test and recommend changes to key controls to ensure that controls are designed effectively while also ensuring their proper implementation

Business Continuity Plan

Implement Business Continuity Plan across CIBG at the pre-defined intervals in order to ensure compliance

Training and Support

Provide training and awareness on OR in order to promote a risk management and compliance culture

Provide support to CIBG Business Units in order to assist them with the interpretation of policy and framework requirements and Operational Risk Management System (ORMS) implementation

Reporting

Provide input to management reports on the status of operational risk matters and measurements in order to keep internal stakeholders apprised of the status of operational risk

People Management

Manage self and team in line with ADCB's people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximize own and employee contribution to business performance

Organize and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems

Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures

Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders

Continuous Improvement

Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programs and projects in line with the Bank's standards

Customer Service

Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the Bank's required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions

Skills

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Minimum Experience

At least 5 years of experience in Banking including 3 years of experience in a Risk Management function

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance

Knowledge And Skills

Analytical and logical reasoning

Knowledge of risk and control management tools

Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)

Knowledge of Banking functions
