Responsibilities

Reports on all incidents, raises them to the immediate supervisor and follow through until such time as they are handed over

Monitors and manages the entrance onto the property of all personnel and restricts access to those unauthorized to do so and reports any such attempted breaches

Monitors, manages, and controls access of all vehicles onto the property and restricts and reports any attempted breaches by unauthorized vehicles

The issuing and collection of all keys

The issuing and collection of Security passes and ensures the safekeeping of any identification retained from as deposits

Complete visitors/contractors’ logbooks

Verify and file Property Removal Authorization

Controls access and egress into any specific areas identified at sensitive duty posts

Monitor for and divert any unregistered guests to reception

Together with relevant front office colleagues monitors and controls traffic movement within the property

Control unauthorized parking to ensure parking only in designated areas

All related registers and logbooks are maintained

All reports are completed in GSIICS and are updated as and when required

Crowd Control measures are adopted wherever required

Manage and execute responsibilities within GSOM

To be proactive always and report any incidents either actual or suspicious to the relevant supervisor

To act upon any information received or incident witnessed to ensure the safety and security of all parties is maintained and the protection of the asset is not compromised

Have a full understanding of the departmental policies and procedures and be knowledgeable with all updates and revisions as published

Conduct full Security and fire, life safety patrols of the property as directed and record and report all defects and irregularities through the correct channels

Ensure all lost and found property is handed in for recording and storage in a timely manner

Ensure that pending duties with related information are handed over to the Supervisor at the end of each shift

Be aware of and enforce all policies related to the specific posting where the officer is working (EG policy on contractor access)

Escalate incidents to the appropriate person or department as the situation requires

Patrolling should be conducted at every post

Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Security

To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by ExCom or the Director of Security

Skills & Qualifications

SIRA approved Security guard course

SIRA Security guard license

High school certificate or equivalent

Minimum 1-year experience in hospitality security

Ability to understand effective approaches of communication with different individuals.

Able to communicate clearly with peers and superiors.

Knowledge of firefighting equipment

Knowledge of CCTV operation

First aid trained

Knowledge of handling emergency situations and evacuations

Very good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Verbal and written communication skills in Arabic or other languages are preferred.
