Responsibilities:
You will join a team that is dedicated to delivering excellent stakeholder service to achieve pragmatic solutions for the business. In doing so you will:
- Provide advice and guidance on a wide range of operational, regulatory, commercial and product counselling ecommerce matters, with a focus on consumer protection, B2B and B2C engagement, product compliance, advertising, influencer marketing, and intellectual property.
- Support the business in understanding and complying with legal and regulatory requirements when launching and operating new products, features, and initiatives in KSA, UAE and the METAP region more broadly.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of TikTok ecommerce initiatives through review of consumer and business facing disclosures, policies, and terms and conditions, and support for feature development.
- Review, draft, negotiate, and advise on: commercial agreements relevant to digital and ecommerce platforms and logistics and warehousing contracts.
- Contribute to template development, process improvement and internal training, identifying and resolving opportunities to simplify workflows and reduce contractual friction.
- Work closely with international stakeholders in legal, privacy, and public policy, to deliver projects against short timeframes, setting appropriate priorities and managing legal risk.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong academic background, with legal qualifications to practice law in the US, UK, or another METAP jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of practice advising e-commerce or retail companies.
- Experience working with cross-functional business stakeholders as in-house counsel in an international organisation, with e-commerce experience preferred.
- Knowledge of laws as they apply to the retail sector, advertising, and e-commerce platforms.
- Experience advising on logistics and warehousing contracts and licensing would be preferred.
- Knowledge of legal frameworks relevant to logistics and transport sectors would be an advantage.
- Experience advising on platform liability, intellectual property, consumer protection, regulatory and compliance schemes vis-a-vis new technology and e-commerce products and customer/third party agreements.
