A little taste of your day-to-day:
Ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and that all work surfaces are kept clean to an ISI Standard.
Assist the Chief Steward / Back of House Manager that all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations are adhered to regarding the kitchen areas.
Report any faults on kitchen equipment and fittings to maintenance and follow through on what action is taken.
Ensure all duties on the cleaning roster are carried out according to hotel standards.
Ensure that an adequate supply of clean crockery and cutlery is provided for Restaurants, Lounge, Room Service and Banqueting.
Ensure that the Chefs are provided with an adequate supply of clean utensils and equipment.
Monitor the standards of performance of the charge hands and kitchen porters and take corrective action when necessary.
Assist the Chief Steward / Back of House Manager in ensuring that all shifts are covered.
Assist the Chief Steward / Back of House Manager with training and induction of new staff, to enable them to carry out their duties according to standards.
Ensure that due diligence sheets are filled out and that standards of cleanliness in all Kitchens and Food & Beverage Back of House areas are checked on a daily basis.
Attend Food & Beverage meetings on a regular basis.
Carry out any other duties within the food and beverage department which may be required.
What we need from you:
Good level of spoken/written English
Flexibility in shifts & tasks
Organizational, leadership and communication skills
Ability to train others
Good knowledge on HACCP
Minimum two years of experience in a similar environment (4-5* hotel)
