Emergency Response Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans specific to marine conservation activities, considering potential incidents, natural disasters, and crisis situations.
Safety and Preparedness: Ensure the organization and staff members are prepared for emergencies by conducting risk assessments, providing training on emergency procedures, and promoting a culture of safety and preparedness.
Incident Management: Coordinate and oversee the response efforts during incidents or emergencies, acting as a point of contact for internal teams, external agencies, and stakeholders. Facilitate efficient communication and collaboration to mitigate risks and minimize impact.
Resource and Logistics Management: Manage and coordinate the allocation of resources required for emergency response, including personnel, equipment, supplies, and facilities. Ensure that all necessary resources are readily available and properly maintained.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external organizations, government agencies, and local communities to establish effective partnerships and ensure a coordinated response during emergencies. Foster positive relationships and effective communication channels.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of emergency response activities, including incident reports, response actions, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement. Generate timely and comprehensive reports to inform future emergency planning and response efforts.

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Environmental Science, Marine Science, or a related field; a Master's degree in a relevant discipline is advantageous.
Emergency Response Experience: Experience in emergency management, incident response, and crisis coordination.
Marine Conservation Knowledge: Understanding of marine ecosystems, conservation principles, and relevant regulations.
Problem-solving Skills: Ability to analyze risks, make critical decisions, and develop mitigation strategies.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills for conveying information, collaborating with teams, agencies, and stakeholders.
