Logistics Coordination: Manage logistics and coordinate resources for fieldwork, research activities, and conservation projects, including transportation, accommodation, permits, and equipment procurement.
Field Support: Provide logistical support to field teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources, supplies, and equipment to carry out their work effectively in marine environments.
Inventory and Asset Management: Maintain an inventory of equipment, supplies, and resources, and ensure their availability for field operations. Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and replacements as needed.
Procurement and Vendor Management: Source and procure equipment, supplies, and services from vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with organizational policies and budgetary constraints.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols related to logistics and fieldwork. Promote a culture of safety and implement measures to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of staff members during operations.
Data and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of logistics-related information, including expenditures, inventory, and fieldwork logistics. Generate reports and analysis to support decision-making and future planning.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, field staff, and external partners to coordinate logistics, communicate requirements, and address any logistical challenges or issues that may arise during operations.
The Successful Applicant
Educational Qualification: Bachelor's or a Masters' degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Marine Science, or a related field or discipline is advantageous.
Experience and Skills: Prior experience in logistics coordination, procurement, or supply chain management, with strong organizational and coordination skills.
Knowledge of Marine Conservation: Understanding of marine ecosystems, conservation principles, and the unique logistical challenges associated with marine conservation projects.
Problem-solving and Adaptability: Ability to think critically, devise creative solutions, and adapt to changing circumstances during fieldwork.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams, field staff, vendors, and partners.
