The Checkout Associate is responsible in providing efficient customer service to customers at the cash till, while processing all relevant cash and credit transactions correctly as per the standard operating procedures.

Core Responsibilities:

The individual efficiently process all customer transactions, including cash, credit card, vouchers, and gift cards, ensuring accuracy and professionalism throughout. Mastery of handling various transactions such as bills, foreign exchange currency, cash discounts, vouchers, internal buys, and staff buys is essential to expedite customer service effectively. Additionally, the jobholder meticulously follow correct closing procedures for cash deposits and pickups, promptly reporting any discrepancies to the cash supervisor. Engaging with customers, they provide information on products, promotions, offers, and plastic bag resale opportunities at the cash register. During checkout downtime, maintain the display of front-end counters to enhance the overall shopping experience. Prior to and after each shift, they diligently check the cash register for hygiene standards as outlined in the checklist, ensuring a clean and sanitized work environment.
