As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:
Warmly welcome and greet guests as they arrive at the all-day dining restaurant.
Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently, maintaining an organized and welcoming entrance.
Take and manage restaurant reservations, ensuring accurate recording and communication with the kitchen and service staff.
Handle inquiries over the phone or through electronic channels, providing information about menus, special events, and policies.
Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize table turnover and ensure timely service.
Maintain a waitlist during peak hours, providing estimated wait times to guests.
Escort guests to their tables and present menus, ensuring a smooth transition between the reception and dining areas.
Respond to guest requests and inquiries, providing information about menu items, daily specials, and restaurant promotions.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen, servers, and management to ensure efficient service.
Relay special requests and dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff.
Provide exceptional customer service by anticipating guest needs and addressing concerns promptly.
Handle guest feedback with professionalism and take necessary actions to ensure guest satisfaction.
Manage cash transactions, including processing payments and providing change accurately.
Ensure compliance with cash-handling procedures and maintain the security of cash at the reception.
Keep the reception area clean and organized, including menus, reservation books, and waiting areas.
Ensure a visually appealing and inviting entrance for guests.
Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a hostess/host or receptionist role, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational abilities to manage reservations and guest flow efficiently.
Customer-focused with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and remain composed.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work collaboratively with servers, kitchen staff, and other team members.
Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
