Faculty Positions in Data Science Full-time Job

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at American University of Sharjah (AUS) is now accepting applications for full-time regular faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing August 2024. In exceptional cases, an appointment at a higher rank than Assistant Professor may be considered.

Applicants with a strong research potential in data science or data mining will be considered. A PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics is required by the appointment start date. Evidence of excellence in teaching at all levels of the curriculum and strong communication skills in English are expected. Experience in North American-style higher education is highly desirable.

A complete application consists of two PDF files. The first file contains a cover letter, a teaching statement, and a research statement. The second file contains the candidate's curriculum vitae along with contact details of three references for letters of recommendation. At least one reference letter should focus on the applicant's teaching abilities.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at AUS offers diverse programs, including a Master of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, minors in applied and computational mathematics, actuarial mathematics, and data science.
