Job Details

Minimum 10 years of related work experience in similar industries

Ship building & Dredging / Marine vessels repair - Preferred

Bachelor or master degree in engineering in a related discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification.

Monitor and manage all workshops activities and ensure compliance to safety policies.

Ensure all welding, fabrication and lifting activities are performed according to company’s quality standards

Update periodical and day-to-day performance of Workshops and yard and reports to the Technical Manager

Manage routine and non-routine maintenance on welding equipment in coordination with Supervisor / foreman.

Work and act according to defined policies and procedures of the Department.

Develop a safety culture in the workshops, making safety a natural part of all work performed.

Implements policies and procedures for effective and efficient functioning of the workshop day to day activities.

Controls all work schedules & costs/ budgets through implementing an efficient use of all resources & equipment.

Monitors and manage productivity and implement appropriate action to maintain maximum productivity and cost effectiveness.

Meets operational standards; implementing production quality and standards.

Maintains quality of all work in accordance with the standards as specified in the design documents and drawings.

Determines manpower levels to attain schedule milestones and monitors manpower levels and other resources including equipment to ensure conformance with the plans.

Manages third party repairs by monitoring and controlling performance and ensure quality by arranging required inspections.

Manage proper maintenance of location and condition track records of all yard assets including tools, equipment, pipelines, pipeline accessories, etc.

Manage adequate storing and disposal of scrap material according to company QHSE & asset disposal procedures.

Monitor and manage inventory of yard supplies and arrange purchase orders as necessary.

Conduct research and analysis new developments in welding and fabrication fields for possible applications to current issues or production processes.

Annually reviews and manage requirements for employees training and other required expectations.

Provide technical support as related to industry standards, specifications and codes such as ASME, AWS, and API

Review and maintain welding procedures, methods and records, ensuring all are accurately followed and certified for required approvals.
