Key Responsibilities
Provide exceptional service to guests by promptly and courteously taking their orders, offering recommendations, and ensuring accurate delivery of food and beverages.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the hotels menu, including special dietary options, ingredients, and preparation methods.
Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests in a professional and efficient manner, striving to exceed their expectations.
Coordinate with the kitchen and other relevant departments to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
Set up and present in-room dining tables with attention to detail, ensuring that the setup meets the hotels standards of excellence.
Accurately record and process guest payments, adhering to cash handling procedures and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the in-room dining area, including storage areas, equipment, and supplies.
Restock supplies, including food, beverages, condiments, and amenities, as needed and in accordance with established par levels.
Collaborate with the culinary team and other staff members to continuously improve service standards and enhance the overall guest experience.
Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations, following proper sanitation practices and procedures.
Always maintain a professional and polished appearance, adhering to the hotels grooming and uniform standards.
Assist with other service-related tasks and responsibilities, as assigned by the In-Room Dining Manager or other supervisors.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a waiter or in-room dining server in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant is preferred.
Excellent knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, including formal table service, tray service, and beverage preparation.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact confidently and courteously with guests from diverse backgrounds.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in taking orders and delivering them in accordance with guest preferences.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks while maintaining a calm and composed demeanour.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the needs of the hotel.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to follow instructions accurately.
Knowledge of POS systems and basic computer skills for order processing and payment transactions.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations and practices related to food service.
A commitment to delivering exceptional guest service and a passion for the hospitality industry.
Familiarity with Forbes and LQA (Leading Quality Assurance) standards and processes is advantageous.
