The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and technical integration of Electric and Hybrid Propulsion Systems.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of UAV/Drone systems, pinpointing areas for enhancement and executing necessary modifications.
Proficiency in various drone propulsion systems (Battery, hybrid, fuel cell, ICE, etc.) to optimize both system and drone performance.
Collaborate closely with the Lead Researcher at the Propulsion and Space Research Center on electrification projects, working in tandem with TII partners, allied centers, and stakeholders.
Provide expert technical support, fostering a culture of knowledge exchange and skill advancement in UAV technologies within the team.
Contribute to the review and creation of technical reports focusing on UAV propulsion system advancements.
Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks governing research activities, including health, safety, and ethical guidelines.
Necessary Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
5+ years of proven experience in design, development and assembling of UAV/drones.
Hands-on UAV piloting experience is required.
UAV pilot license is preferred.
Strong knowledge of UAV technology, quality control and regulations.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
Experience with coding/software (Python, C++, MATLAB), report writing and analysis of complex systems.
