Senior Marine Scientist Full-time Job

The existing role will see you involved in:

Preparation and review of technical reports.

Preparation of proposals but technical and commercial.

Supervision and training of junior staff.

Maintain and develop client relationships.

Participate in marine related field work as an when required.

Proactive business development and marketing to bring in Clients.

Client satisfaction, repeat and new business.

Teamwork, cooperation, open communication, coaching of staff.

Invoiced vs target fees, chargeable time.

Implementation of individual action plan.

Demonstrate compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Environmental Management Systems by satisfying GHD’s internal and external audits.

Develop client relationships through regular communications relating to job progress.

Anticipate client needs and respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.

Provide supervision, guidance and feedback to professional, technical and support staff when required.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Masters degree in Marine Science, Environmental Science or Biology related science or conservation.

5+ years’ experience in a consulting environment with demonstrated Middle East experience.

Proven experience and a sound understanding of current legislation in the UAE etc.

Proven experience in management of projects.

Understanding of marine / coastal modelling studies

Strong team development skills, a team player.

Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written, open communication.

Good people relationship and networking skills.

Focus on client service.

Ability to manage several jobs at once and determine priorities.

Strong judgment and decisiveness; bias for action.

Leadership skills – cooperative with other staff, good coaching skills.

Ability to influence others, good negotiating skills.

Commercial or recreational diving qualification
