Job Details

Maintaining records of all artifacts, their condition and location in the Culture Authority’s antiquities and heritage sites and all related assets.

Follow up on the registration and allocation of registration and indexing numbers for all new and existing pieces in antiquities, in accordance with the antiquities management system and the applicable database.

Providing handling, packing, moving and inspection support for all artifacts entering or leaving Culture Authority institutions in line with insurance and Authority policies, including mobile exhibitions, consulting with other staff to ensure that no damage or deterioration has occurred to the objects, and developing and initiating the most practical methods for packing and shipping objects. Valuable or easy to break.

Following up on shipments of antiquities and objects, managing logistics services for incoming and outgoing shipments, supervising international customs clearance, supervising the placement of antiquities in their places, and scheduling exhibitions of collectibles and objects.

Supervising an accurate description of the objects, and recording the descriptions on file cards and in the antiquities management system and database.

Monitoring the site of the Culture Authority’s antiquities, and coordinating with shippers, art processors, insurance companies, officials, etc.

Coordinate, prepare and maintain the calendar for shipping, holding exhibitions and dismantling collections from exhibitions.

Follow up and save insurance documents for antiquities and loans.

Maintain a disaster response plan and reports on archaeological facilities.

Implement policies and procedures related to registration to ensure prevailing best practices and ethical standards related to the management and safety of monuments.

Preparing reports on the Authority’s effects, including its acquisition, status, and deregistration, for the purposes of review by administrative and regulatory staff.

Disseminate information relevant to impacts on museums, heritage sites and all relevant assets staff, researchers and students.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in conservation and restoration (in one of the following specializations: paper, paintings, metals) from an accredited university.

5 years of relevant work experience.
