An opportunity has arisen for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join the Pastry Kitchen at the Carlton Tower Jumeirah. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and safe pastry kitchen environment and ensuring staff follows proper sanitation practices.

Collaborate with other departments to provide pastry support for special events, banquets, and functions hosted by the luxury hotel.

Ensure proper care and maintenance of pastry equipment, coordinating with relevant staff to address any maintenance or repair needs promptly.

Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and innovations in the pastry and baking field, integrating new knowledge into the hotel's pastry offerings.

Collaborate with the Head Pastry Chef and other team members to contribute creative ideas for pastry and dessert menu development, considering seasonal ingredients and guest preferences.

Maintain strict quality control measures, regularly inspecting finished products to ensure they meet the hotel's standards for taste, presentation, and overall excellence.

Provide guidance and leadership to the pastry team, including Commis Chefs and assistants, ensuring efficient workflow, and fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.

Assist in the training and development of Junior Pastry staff, imparting knowledge on techniques, recipes, and the execution of pastry items.

Ensure strict compliance with the hotel's pastry standards, policies, and procedures, contributing to continuous improvement in pastry quality and service.

Showcase creativity and innovation in pastry design and presentation, staying abreast of industry trends and incorporating new ideas into the dessert offerings.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Strong creative abilities with a proven track record of contributing innovative ideas to pastry menus, staying updated on current trends in pastry arts.

Certification in food safety and hygiene, ensuring a deep understanding of safe food handling practices and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment, showcasing flexibility in managing multiple tasks, coordinating with other kitchen staff, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Exceptional attention to detail in pastry preparation and presentation, ensuring the highest standards of quality and aesthetics are consistently met.

Effective communication skills to convey instructions clearly to the pastry team, collaborate with other departments, and interact professionally with guests and colleagues.

Strong time management skills, with the ability to organize tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a busy pastry kitchen environment.
