Key Responsibilities
Supervise the daily operations of the In-Room Dining order taking department, ensuring smooth workflow, and adherence to service standards.
Train, coach, and mentor order takers on effective order taking techniques, menu knowledge, and proper telephone etiquette.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the hotels food and beverage offerings, including menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and any special promotions.
Monitor order accuracy and quality to ensure guest satisfaction and handle any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
Maintain and update the In-Room Dining ordering system, ensuring accuracy of menu items, pricing, and availability.
Coordinate with the kitchen and other departments to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues that may arise during the order fulfilment process.
Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the order taking process, ensuring efficiency and consistency in service.
Conduct regular performance evaluations of order takers, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
Monitor order taker performance and productivity, ensuring that service standards and response times are met.
Assist in managing inventory and supplies, including linens, china, glassware, and other operational materials required for In-Room Dining.
Collaborate with the In-Room Dining Manager to develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the order taker team.
Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences, and new technologies related to In-Room Dining services.
Prepare reports on order volumes, sales, guest satisfaction, and other relevant metrics as required by the management.
Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote In-Room Dining services and increase revenue.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations in the order taking area.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education in hospitality or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar supervisory role in a luxury hotel or resort environment.
Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, menu items, and service standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
Exceptional customer service skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in computer systems, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and other related software.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Familiarity with Forbes and Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards is advantageous, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional quality and service.
