A little taste of your day-to-day:
Handle room service orders via phone from guests. Ensure orders are accurately posted to the appropriate guest account
Answer the telephone within prescribed number of rings. Efficiently and professionally handle multiple incoming calls at once
Articulate and repeat each other to the guest before hanging up. Use guest name and title
Follow established script to encourage up-selling
Give guest the approximate time of delivery
Helps in operation, mise en place
Knowledge and understanding to explain and perform upselling all items offered by the hotel
Correctly enter all pertinent information of an order including special items, cooking meat instructions, no seasoning (MSG, Salt), etc.
Close checks to correct guest's room account
Print reports and/or complete paperwork at the end of shift
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Coordinate VIP deliveries with appropriate departments.
May assist with other duties as assigned
Perform any reasonable tasks as instructed by Manager
What we need from you:
Communication skills – guests and colleagues will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to
Fluency in the English language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential
Your Time management skills will be important to know how to prioritize tasks under pressure
Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
Experience - ideally you’ll have spent at least two years in a similar position in a 5 star property
You will have a high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus, but not essential
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
