Key Responsibilities:

Design and illustrate graphic components, including charts, diagrams, maps, and other visuals, to convey information with clarity and precision.

Work within the existing design principles of The National.

Analyze and annotate data to create captivating visual narratives that resonate with audiences.

Employ typography and design principles to craft engaging information graphics and data visualizations.

Develop and execute digital designs across various platforms, ensuring consistency and effectiveness on websites, mobile apps, and social media.

Generate creative concepts and ideas to drive the visual storytelling process, showcasing your unique creative skills.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data journalists, web developers, and editors, to conceptualize and produce interactive data visualizations.

Innovate and implement creative solutions to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.


Bachelor's degree or related in Graphic Design or Motion Design.

Experience in journalism, with a portfolio of published work showcasing data-driven storytelling.

Demonstrated proficiency in creative infographics, typography, branding, and motion animation, showcased through a strong portfolio.

Proficiency in digital graphics software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, XD, Figma) and familiarity with apps like Capcut, Flourish or Canva.

Knowledge of Digital Front End technologies such as CSS, HTML, and Javascript is appreciated but not required.

Enthusiastic, energetic, and creative thinker with a passion for pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.

Commitment to staying updated on software and technologies relevant to digital graphics and animation.
