Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and supervise the team to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest service.
Train and develop staff members on service techniques, menu knowledge, and company standards.
Delegate tasks effectively, set performance expectations, and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professionalism, and a guest-centric approach.
Ensure that guests receive prompt, friendly, and personalised service throughout the in-room dining experience.
Monitor service standards to maintain consistency and exceed guest expectations.
Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints, resolving them in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the menu offerings, including dietary restrictions and special requests.
Oversee the order-taking process and coordinate with the kitchen and other departments to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders.
Monitor order tracking systems and ensure efficient communication between staff members and the kitchen team.
Ensure proper set-up and presentation of in-room dining orders, including tableware, condiments, and additional amenities.
Monitor order accuracy, ensuring all items are delivered as per the guests request and quality standards are met.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of in-room dining supplies, including food, beverages, and amenities.
Coordinate with the purchasing department to replenish stock and manage par levels effectively.
Conduct regular inventory checks to minimize waste, control costs, and ensure proper stock rotation.
Collaborate with the In-Room Dining Manager to develop menus and introduce new items based on guest preferences and market trends.
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, organisation, and proper functioning of all equipment and workstations.
Identify operational inefficiencies and propose solutions for process improvements.
Assist the In-Room Dining Manager in developing standard operating procedures and implementing best practices.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality or related field is preferred.
Proven experience in a supervisory role within an in-room dining or room service department.
Familiarity with Forbes and Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards is advantageous, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional quality and service.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and service techniques.
Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and order tracking software.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
