Director Product Design Full-time Job

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Specific activities required and results needed to excel

Define and execute upon a vision for design and user experience (UX) within our portfolio of products

Provide UX leadership using your experience with analytics, research, design methodologies and product launches

Work closely with development team, to ensure that new product development and your design direction blend efficiently

Lead and motivate a team of talented product designers by providing mentorship, coaching, regular feedback and career planning

Establish standards and KPIs, ensure adherence, assess quality, and maximize efficiency.

Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of Product Design team to ensure smooth progress

DIMENSIONS Size of the job (eg. Team Size, Financial control, span of control, geography, branches, customers, etc)

Manage a team of 8-10 designers

Selection Criteria

ESSENTIAL :

Minimum 10 years hands-on experience of Product Design for a SaaS application, including visual design as well as user research and prototyping

A portfolio reflecting that experience, including shipped and currently in-market products, and demonstrating end-to-end design methodology

Mastery of design and prototyping tools (e.g. Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud)

Experience using analytics, user research, user testing and other approaches to help make decisions and iterate on the product

Self-motivated, a good communicator with excellent attention to detail, and able to balance great design with meeting short deadlines

Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
